Biography of Keren’Or

dream:webValerie Pezard is born  in 1980 in Drancy, France. Based in London sinced 2008.
Keren’Or is her artist name since 2003. It is her hebrew name which means Ray of Light.

Graduated a MFA with the highly commended in 2006 at ENSAPC (Paris).

Movement writting draw her field of research. She plays with the languages of the
Body, Voice, Words, Drawing.
Her interests are to find the middle place between life and art.
Dance and singing became the mediums to tend to express a feeling of ‘being in between’.
She is not looking for to make story but desire to create an art which could talk to all of us.
Voice sound, words, movement comes from  a particular space where the mind is letting go the logic to connect to the perception being present . This can arise because of the prepararatif work she bases on her anatomic research, body works (yoga, aikido, rolfing, somatic practices), visual art, cinema and music.

She took part in several collective exhibitions, and live art performances in France until 2007 and in London since 2008.

She started dance in her Fine Art school where the class was leading in a total experimental way inspired by the post-modern contemporary dance when collaborations between visual artists, dancers, musicians was a new way to watch at performances creativity (Judson Church). Regular collaborations with choreographers was held. One of them gave a shift in her practice ; Daniel Dobbels with who she realised that dance can show the invisible, our invisibility, our secret presence .

The simplicity of this evidence conviced her to direct her way in the world of dance.
She started academic technique dance classes, yoga and aikido in 2006, as soon she graduated.

In 2008, she moved to London to do an intensive dance training at the Laban center, school for contemporary dance. She graduated in 2009 with the Prize Michelle Simone for outstanding in Choreography.

Since, she mainly choreograph while carry on her self-development as a performer and artist travelling in different part of the world where she can collect  inspiration for writting, singing and dancing.
